Programme for a Charity gala of rugby union at Blackheath rugby club featuring a Blackheath XV, a Kent clubs XV, a London Invitation XV and a Welsh Invitation XV.

Included inside the programme is a sheet of paper with 11 various signatures collected on the day. Im not sure of all of them but Ill say the ones I know and if you need a scan to try and guess the rest, pse ask !

SEBASTIAN COE - one of Englands greatest middle-distance runners.

Twenty-five years ago, at Oslo’s Bislet Games the 22-year-old Sebastian Coe won the 800m in 1 minute and 42.33 seconds, shaving 1.11seconds off the world record of Cuban track legend Alberto Juantorena. Two weeks later - same track, same city - Coe then lowered the world mile record in the Golden Mile, breaking John Walker’s four-year-old mark, Coe winning in a time of 3min 48.95sec - 0.45 seconds better than the Kiwi’s mark. Then less than a month later, at a meeting in Zurich, Coe made it a remarkable three world records in 41 days, edging just 0.13sec off Filbert Bayi’s 1500m mark set at the 1974 Commonwealth Games.
In all he broke 12 world records between 1979 & 83.

Photo taken July 26th 1937 of CHARLES KULLMANN, a singer/actor who made 5 films in the 30's and 40's.
Photo is signed by him and also has a stamp of the photographer WILLINGER of WIEN.
Photo is a little distressed but mainly in corners and margins where there are creases and one tear. There is one long crease going through the hair and some small surface creases.
Overall, careful framing wld lose a lot of the margin damage.

SIR GEORGE CATHCARTwas born on 12 May 1794. He was present at all the major battles in the campaigns against the French in 1813 and entered Paris with the allied armies on 31 March 1814.
He was aide-de-camp to the Duke of Wellington in 1815 at the battles of Quatre Bras and Waterloo and was in Paris with Wellington until 1818. In 1846 he resigned his command and became deputy-lieutenant of the Tower of London. He became a Major-General on 11 November 1851.
In January 1852 Cathcart was appointed by Wellington to succeed Major-General Sir Harry Smith as Governor and Commander-in-Chief at the Cape.
In July 1853 Cathcart was made a K.C.B. and on 12 December he was appointed as an adjutant-general at the Horse Guards.
He was then sent to the Crimea and given command of the 4th Division. Cathcart was instructed that he was to be to the Commander-in-Chief of the army in the campaign in the event of anything happening to Lord Raglan.
On 5 November 1854 Cathcart took the first Brigade into the battle of Inkerman where great confusion reigned. Cathcart attempted to charge up the hill with fifty men of the 20th regiment; he was shot through the heart. Many posthumous honours were paid to him and a tablet was erected to him in St. Paul's Cathedral. He was buried in the Crimea.
